Applied KinesiologyTM or AK practictioners use muscle testing as well as other standard diagnostic techniques, to evaluate the structural, chemical and mental aspects of your health.
If a muscle is unbalanced in the body and is not working properly, this can guide your doctor to the source of your problem. The doctor can then work out a treatment to best balance your muscles and alleviate the cause of the problem.
Treatment can range from specific joint adjustment and reflex procedures to dietary management.
Drs Eric and David Pierotti use AK to complement their chiropractic and naturopathic diagnostic and treatment techniques. This holistic approach ensures that you get the best treatment and the origin of your problem is addressed, not just the symptoms.
To practice AK, practitioners must first obtain a degree in primary health care like Chiropractic, Dentistry, Surgery or Medicine. A course of further study in Applied Kinesiology is needed to become an accredited practitioner. In Australia, Applied KinesiologyTM is trademarked so that you can easily identify practitioners that have been accredited and are highly skilled.
Dr David is a fully Certified Practitioner and has completed the course more than once, also acting as a mentor for other students during the course sessions.
Dr Eric holds a Diplomate of the International Board of Applied Kinesiology (DIBAK). This means he has completed a further 300 hours of AK training, conducted written and oral examinations and submitted original research papers to the international board.
